Historic Garden Week Tour

Wednesday, April 21, 2021

Nestled high on a bluff overlooking the York River, the charming village of Yorktown is the backdrop for a tour that features contemporary and colonial architecture, curated interiors, and lovely gardens sure to delight visitors.

For one week this April, visitors and residents can tour private landscapes, public gardens, and historic sites across Virginia, enjoying our beautiful state at the peak of spring. In addition, more than 1,000 world-class floral arrangements created by Garden Club of Virginia members will enhance tour properties, including the charming village of Yorktown.

Nestled along the bank of the York River and surrounded by historic battlefields, the quaint village of Yorktown is home to this year's tour. Steeped in history, the village was the site of the last major battle of the Revolutionary War, and serves as the backdrop for a tour that features significant landmarks, museums, a colonial herb garden, and a stylish display of floral talent. Quaint shops and numerous restaurants offer visitors an array of options while spending time in the village. Located alongside the Colonial National Historic Park, opportunities abound for history lovers to explore the significant sites of America's battle for independence.
