He depicts the extraordinary measures the Lincoln Administration took to destroy the illegal transatlantic slave trade. 

Christopher Newport University Professor White is the author of many books and articles on Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War and winner of the Gilder-Lehner Lincoln Prize for 2023. Some of his recent works will be available for sale and signing following the lecture.
