Celebrate Independence on the best running/walking course on the Peninsula!

This is a chip-timed 8K event that participants can run or walk on the Fourth of July on the Historic Yorktown Battlefield Tour Road. Race participants will park and gather near the York High School tennis courts and will be led to the start line by Fife and Drummers. The 8K race starts at 8 a.m. All 8K participants receive a custom race T-shirt and the first 600 to register receive a beautiful custom die cast commemorative medal.  

The 5K Fun Run starts at 8:30 a.m. Awards for the top three overall men and women. All 5K Fun Run participants receive a finisher coin and a custom race T-shirt, while supplies last. The 5K Run walk is not a timed event. 

The live race is run on the Historic Battlefield Tour Road, accessed from school grounds. The event is sponsored by the York County Historical Museum.

There will be a post race celebration and refreshments after the race is completed.
