Fall Market - Yorktown Market Days
Saturday, October 9, 2021
It's become a community tradition to help kick off a season of cooler weather, changing leaves, and fun for the whole family!
During Yorktown’s Fall Market—shop more than 40 different vendors and artists selling seasonal favorites like pumpkins, mums, autumn-inspired art, kettle corn, and apple pies! Enjoy free activities for kids of all ages, including a pumpkin painting craft and fun photo opportunities. A professional pumpkin carver will give live carving demonstrations and you don’t want to miss the annual "Guess the Weight of the Giant Pumpkin". This year’s game will feature more than one large pumpkin, all donated by Allen’s Farm & Pumpkinville in Toano. The person to guess the closest combined weight (without going over) on Visit Yorktown’s Facebook page will win a prize basket with vegetables donated by P&D produce, small pumpkins donated by Allen’s Farm, and a beautiful hand-blown glass pumpkin created and donated by Artist Kelsey Finnie.
Come on down to the waterfront Oct. 9, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to see what makes us one of the favorite farmers markets on the Peninsula, especially this time of year! And don’t forget to snap your pictures with our beautifully Autumn decorated LOVE letters, located beside the Freight Shed.
IMPORTANT WEATHER INFORMATION: Like you, we are keeping a close eye on the forecast. Luckily, our market is rain or shine and all of the above activities will simply move into the lower level of the parking garage, right along with the vendors and artists. Just park up top and walk down to shop and have fun, where it’s dry and comfortable. We will announce a decision about the hay rides tomorrow (Oct. 8) and the Fifes & Drums’ performance will be determined the morning of the market. Community Sponsor TSP Lawns & Landscapes and Yorktown Feed Seed ‘n More have graciously rescheduled the Hay Maze to the Harvest Festival on Nov. 20 and we are working to bring the Petting Zoo to one of our holiday events. Please make sure you’re following us on Facebook (link above) and we also recommend you check our Weather Event Hotline Saturday morning at 757.890.3520 for the latest announcements.
Per the updated Executive Order 72, fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask at the market. Those individuals who are not vaccinated should continue to wear a mask.
Due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, all 2021 events are subject to change including times, dates, and locations.
