Take a Stroll With a Historian Tour
Saturday, January 16, 2021
There is no better way to experience Historic Yorktown than taking a stroll with a professional historian! Tour guides Maureen Wiese and J. Michael Moore of Hampton Roads Tours will provide interesting information and insights not typically found in history books.
Following in the footsteps of citizens from the past, travel back in time to the 18th-century. This outside tour begins at Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters in the Cole Digges House and continues through the grounds of Swan Tavern, down Main Street to the gardens of Gov. Thomas Nelson Jr., and on to the home and grounds of Dudley Digges. The tour ends back at Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters, where you are welcome to stay and purchase cold drinks and treats to complete your outing.
Participants must be able to walk at a leisurely pace for one hour with stops along the way. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tours are weather permitting. A face mask is required to enter Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters & Petite Café.
Due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic—all York County sponsored and partner community events are subject to postponement or cancellation. This includes changes to dates, times, and locations.
