Yorktown Day Weekend - The French Connection Walking Tour

Sunday, October 18, 2020

There is no better way to experience Historic Yorktown than taking a stroll with a professional historian! Tour guides Maureen Wiese and J. Michael Moore of Hampton Roads Tours will provide interesting historical information and insights not typically found in history books.

The French have had a connection in Yorktown since it was founded by Nicholas Martiau. Travel back in time as this tour takes you from the 1600s to the Siege of Yorktown in 1781 to present day with the annual celebration of Yorktown Day with our French allies. The tour ends back at Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters, where you are welcome to stay and purchase cold drinks and treats to complete your outing.

Please be aware that this is an outside walking tour with stops along the way. Participants are advised to wear sunscreen, limit the weight of bags, bring a water bottle, and wear comfortable shoes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tours are weather permitting. A face mask is required to enter Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters & Petite Café.

*This tour does not go on the Battlefields; see offerings for "Battlefield Tours" if interested in tours of those locations.

Due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic—all York County sponsored and partner community events are subject to postponement or cancellation. This includes changes to dates, times, and locations.
