Homeschool students will love discovering the sights and sounds of the 17th and 18th centuries while learning about their nation’s history.

Admission to the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown throughout Homeschool Program Days, including Revolution-themed films, permanent exhibition galleries, and recreations of a Continental Army encampment and Revolution-era farm.

Virtual Tours: Pre-recorded tours of both Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown will be available with the purchase of your tickets. These tours are streamable from the website and will be available September 5-25, 2020. More information, including URL and passcode, will be included in your welcome packet when you arrive at the museums. In addition to these pre-recorded tours, you will have access to one live Q&A session at each museum with education staff. Live sessions for the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are scheduled on Thursday, September 10 at 11:00-11:45 a.m. or Thursday, September 17 at 3:00-3:45 p.m. Pre-registration is not required for the live virtual sessions; however, it is recommended you view the guided tours before the Q&A with staff. Questions can be submitted prior to the live sessions to felicia.abrams@jyf.virginia.gov.

Education Stations: New to Homeschool Days this year! The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation has developed a number of station interactions offered safely from a distance that will allow students to delve deeper into the history at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. These stations are designed to focus on history as well as historical skills, such as critical thinking, primary source analysis, and how historians use clues from the past to put together a historical narrative.

At the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown stations, families will discover more about espionage during the Revolutionary War, varying perspectives of war through patriots, loyalists, and those who remained neutral, the creation of the Declaration of Independence, and the lives of enslaved people. Yorktown stations will be available September 8, 10, 15, and 17 at 10:00-a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m.
