The York County Historical Museum is celebrating Yorktown Day Weekend with a special USS Yorktown (CG-48) exhibit. At Friday's opening program at 1 p.m., the Commissioning Commander and others will share memories of the ship, Miss Mary (the ship’s sponsor), and Yorktown. The exhibit will only be up this weekend during the times below, so make sure you stop by and pay tribute to this special piece of history.

Other events of note:
Friday, October 18: At 5 p.m. there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of Mary and Nick Mathews (located at the far side of the parking lot at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown).
Saturday, October 19: The USS Yorktown Association will participate in the parade at 10 a.m. Afterwards, two WWII groups will return to York Hall to set up a display outside the building. At 2:30 p.m., a commemoration pinning will take place for Vietnam veterans.
