Edna E. Lockwood Visits Yorktown

Saturday, September 14, 2019

Take a tour of the last historic sailing bugeye in the world and queen of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s floating fleet.

As part of its National Park Service partly funded heritage tour around the Chesapeake Bay, the Edna E. Lockwood is visiting Yorktown. The Chesapeake Bay nine-log bugeye will be docked behind the Watermen's Museum for Saturday's Oyster Roast. The Edna holds the legacy as the last of her kind to dredge oysters on the Bay.

Stop by on Saturday to step aboard, take a free tour, and learn more about the bugeye. All-you-can-eat tickets for the Oyster Roast, which also includes clam chowder, hot dogs, and sides from Carrot Tree, are $40 before the event and $50 at the gate.
