Discover Unique Treasures at Yorktown's Art Stroll
Marvel at some pretty amazing local talent on Sunday, September 24! That’s when more than 40 local artists will display their work along Water Street for the annual Yorktown Art Stroll.
This event takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Not only can you visit the artists and learn more about their inspiration, but you can also sit and watch as some of them demonstrate their work in and around the Freight Shed at Riverwalk Landing.
You’ll find a wide range of art for sale including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings; stained and infused glass work; drawings; photography; jewelry; pottery; woodwork; and even painted furniture!
Painter and Jewelry Designer Ellen DeMaria loves how the event brings the entire community together and told us, "It’s one of my favorite shows of the year because visitors are truly interested in exploring local works of art. I showcase my work and have fun, engaging conversations with fellow art lovers.”
Here's a more detailed look at who will be participating this year and what you'll find when you visit. Please note the Gallery at York Hall, up the hill on Main Street, will extend its hours for the Art Stroll and Riverwalk Restaurant will feature a display of work from On the Hill Gallery artists!
There will also be a special musical performance by acoustical guitarist Robbie House who will be playing from 1 to 4 p.m. And many local restaurants and businesses plan to extend their hours and stay open after 6 p.m. that day.
Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots. The free Yorktown Trolley also funs from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with several convenient stops throughout town. This event will be held rain or shine!
