Yorktown’s Trolley Celebrates 20 Years of Service to the Community!
This complimentary service alleviates the hassle of finding parking close to the waterfront, especially during peak tourist season and during special events. Since its first trip through the historic area in 1999, ridership has increased from approximately 13,000 annual passengers to an estimated 95,000 passengers every year!
“Nostalgia is absolutely a part of the attraction. With the trolley service entering its 20th year of operation, we have individuals who experienced it when they were younger and are now bringing their children to have that same connection to Yorktown. These are memories that will last a lifetime, and we are proud to be a part of those memories.” – Darren Williams/Operations Supervisor
Park your car and let us do the driving! The Trolley is one of the best ways to see Historic Yorktown. Our friendly guides will give helpful information about each stop so you can focus on the scenery, the history, and where you want to have your next meal. This FREE air-conditioned service will take you from the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center all the way to the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, making several convenient stops along the way. Each trolley is ADA accessible.
COVID-19 safety precautions are in place, including enhanced cleaning. The trolleys have enough passenger space for riders to spread out. However, if ridership is high, capacity may be limited briefly to allow for social distancing. Both drivers and riders are all asked to wear face masks unless medical conditions prevent them from doing so. Hand sanitizer is available upon boarding and the seats and hold bars are cleaned frequently.
